I started making pottery as an adult in 2016. Here's how it happened.
I took a survey of the arts class in junior high that included a section on pottery. For me, it was fun, and I always wished that been able to continue.
Recently I got the bug to pick it up again. I watched youtube videos and scoured craigslist for used equipment.
I found an old kick wheel and traded a canoe + $100 for an old kiln. That was enought to get started.
After having some success, I looked again for and electric wheel, and found an old one for less than my kick wheel.
It's become a fun hobby, although I have to watch that it doesn't take too much time.
For a computer programmer who spends most of the day staring at a computer, making pottery has become an outlet for creative energy.
